Why Accredited Investors Choose Nexus Petroleum Group
Nexus Petroleum Group gives accredited investors direct access to U.S. oil and gas assets. Our programs are structured as pass-through partnerships with clear budgets, proven formations, and full transparency.
Direct participation programs (DPPs) offer benefits you won't find in stocks or ETFs:
- Monthly cash flow from production revenue
- 60–80% first-year tax deduction through IDC write-offs
- Tax treatment (active vs. passive) depends on structure — see PPM
- Tangible asset ownership with Schedule K-1 reporting
We invest across North Dakota, Colorado, and the Gulf of America, partnering with experienced operators in each region. Our team has decades of experience in energy investment and investor relations. Offices in Newport Beach, CA and Fort Worth, TX (Gulf Coast) serve investors nationwide.
What Is a Direct Participation Program?
A DPP lets you invest directly in oil and gas drilling operations. You own a working interest in physical wells — not shares in a corporation.
The structure works like this:
- Nexus Petroleum Group serves as the general partner and manages operations
- Option to participate as GP or LP
- You receive your share of production income and tax benefits
- IDC deductions (60–80% of well costs) are fully deductible in year one
- IDC deductions and depletion; loss treatment depends on structure (LP vs. GP)
Our Investment Approach
We believe accredited investors deserve the same access to energy assets that institutional funds enjoy. Every program is built on three pillars:
- Portfolio underwriting: Risk spread across multiple wells and formations
- Execution discipline: Costs and timelines defined before capital is deployed
- Investor-aligned economics: Transparent reporting and distributable cash flow
We focus on development drilling in proven basins — not speculative exploration. This lowers risk while keeping production potential high.
Cost control is central to our approach. Governance is rigorous. The result: a structure investors and advisors can model with confidence.
Who Qualifies as an Accredited Investor?
Under SEC Regulation D, you qualify if you meet one of these criteria:
- Net worth over $1 million (excluding your primary home)
- Annual income over $200,000 ($300,000 with a spouse) for the past two years
- Certain entities, trusts, or professional certifications
Additional criteria may qualify as accredited under the PPM. Please schedule a consultation for further information.
If you meet these qualifications, schedule a consultation with our team. We provide reserve data, financial projections, and due diligence materials to help you make an informed decision.
Where We Invest
We hold working interests in America's most productive basins:
- North Dakota (Divide County): Bakken and Three Forks formations — among the world's most prolific tight oil plays
- Colorado (Weld County): DJ Basin, Niobrara and Codell formations with multi-zone potential
- Gulf of America: Offshore operations using modern deepwater drilling technology
This geographic spread is intentional. Different basins respond differently to price changes and have different decline profiles. Diversification reduces concentration risk while keeping the focus on proven, development-stage opportunities.
Our Offices
We maintain two offices to serve investors across the country:
- Newport Beach, CA — 4000 MacArthur Blvd, Suite 350. Primary investor relations hub for West Coast investors.
- Fort Worth, TX (Gulf Coast) — Heart of American energy. Direct access to operators and service companies.
We meet investors in person, by phone, or by video call. We respond to inquiries within one business day and serve all U.S. time zones.
How Our Programs Work
Every program follows the same disciplined framework:
- We identify proven formations with established production history
- We structure offerings as pass-through partnerships for direct ownership
After funding, drilling begins within 30–90 days. Investors get regular portal updates: drilling progress and completion reports.
The portal provides 24/7 access to production data, distributions, tax documents, and performance metrics. Transparency is the foundation of every investor relationship.
